Take a peek inside the unique rooms within Centre Block, including the Prime Minister’s Office
Inside Centre Block is a five-part series that gives an exclusive tour behind the iconic building, now closed for repair, restoration and modernization. The doors will not open again for over a decade.
This final installment takes you into some of the 40 rooms that architect John Pearson described as “special rooms and areas”. Learn and visit the stories of some of these spaces, including the Prime Minister’s Office, Confederation Hall and the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition. Centre Block is also home to over 8,000 artifacts that make up the House of Commons Heritage Collection. These works of art, including the Prime Ministers’ and Speakers’ Portrait Galleries, provide a unique perspective on defining moments in Canadian history.
